A new edition of the online format comes to FEAGA in Fuerteventura (from 13th to 23rd December).

After several years without being held, due to the world pandemic, the Fuerteventura Agricultural, Livestock, and Fishing Fair returned in 2021. This time it will be in a different way, in an online format, with a wide range of activities that we will enjoy from the 13th to the 23rd of December

The event is organized by the Cabildo of Fuerteventura, through the Department of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, and in collaboration with the Directorate General of Livestock of the Canary Islands Government.

This year the Department of Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries of the Canary Islands Government have granted the Cabildo of Fuerteventura a direct subsidy of 75,000 €, collaborating to celebrate the Agricultural, Livestock, and Fisheries Fair (FEAGA).

FEAGA is intended to support and protect farmers in the European Union. In addition to financing measures to help and consolidate agricultural markets, including sectoral support (wine, fruit, and vegetables, or olive oil), exceptional standards for variations in the market, and the Community program for fruit, vegetables, and school milk.

Thanks to new technologies and marketing with this new edition, the aim is to continue to carry out actions to promote, promote and publicize the values of the agricultural, livestock, and fishing sector of Fuerteventura, to reach all corners of the island.

“Although it does not take place in the traditional way, due to the current circumstances, the spirit of the Agricultural, Livestock and Fishing Fair of Fuerteventura, declared of regional interest, is maintained. We wanted to recover somehow the importance of the fair and what it represents for the primary sector for Fuerteventura“.

De Vera pointed out that “this edition is due to the enthusiasm of the fishing, livestock and agriculture workers themselves, and they are the ones who have made it possible to bring this edition to a successful conclusion.”

One of the new activities to be developed is a Photo Contest through FEAGA’s social network “Fuerteventura: agriculture, livestock, and fishing.” Anyone can participate with a maximum of three images related to the theme. The two most voted on Facebook have a prize.

Throughout the event, an information campaign will be carried out among young people through the projection in classrooms of rural visits and thematic videos on the primary sector and the environment. The aim is to recapture the spirit of the traditional school visits to FEAGA.

All the program activities are disseminated in the online format, on the social networks Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube (FEAGA Fuerteventura) and the event’s website www.feagafuerteventura.com.
