This October 2021, the rising digital nomad capital of Europe, the island of Fuerteventura in Canary Islands, Spain, opens its doors to art and expression in one of the most welcoming ways in Corralejo- the bustling northern part of the surfer island, where five beachfront villas open their doors to the public with a brand new concept of “Boutique Art Villas” and to celebrate this has opened the doors to the public this 16th & 17th of October through the art festival called “Corralejo Open- House Art Weekend”.
Galera Beach- the legacy name of Corralejo owned by the President of ASOFUER, Mr. Antonio Hormiga, opens its new brand Galera Beach Boutique Art Villas– a first of its kind concept where guests can experience living in beachfront villas, surrounded by artworks and sculptures of famous global artists whose exhibitions have run sold-out shows in galleries and museums in New York, London, Tokyo, and Dubai. Not just that, guests can view artworks and purchase them during their stay.
To familiarize the island with this new concept, Amazzzing Travel founders Varsha Krishnani & Santiago Hormiga, who have also conceptualized the art at the art villas, have planned two days of an art weekender. Where five villas each representing an element of the universe, like Ether, Water, Aire, Fire, and Earth will convert themselves into a museum of art and workshops for adults. From art therapy for adults to learn how to paint underwater; from learning the art of flamenco to understanding the science of sustainable candle making; this 16th & 17th October, everyone has a chance to witness something never happened before.
The Art
In association with global art consultancy Art-Throng led by Akanksha Krishnani and the collectionist art gallery of Eduardo Fariña, Lanzarote Art Gallery, the visitors, and art collectors or enthusiasts can visit artworks from famous artists like Goyo Dominguez, Vicente Verdu, Alfred Montaña, Ely Phoenix, Modesto Roldan, Carlos Parra, Susanna Pannullo, Toñy Gomez, Carmen Espinosa Soto, Fabio Hurtado, Rita Fauria, Eva Tania, Gara Acosta, and many local artisans. The artworks are curated at each villa by Fuerteventura-based conservator and restorer of art, Jose Antonio Marichal, who has restored 16th-century paintings from Madrid to Seville. “We wanted to bring art to the island for a long time now, and now with this art collaboration, we are ecstatic to be able to do so, and inspire guests to the island to experience living this experience. We have worked on similar concepts in Bali, Indonesia, and Goa, India, and cannot wait to show what we have for Fuerteventura”, adds concept director Varsha Krishnani.

The Gastronomy & The CHEFS
In association with the local Chef´s association, named Fuerte Gourmet, the Corralejo Open-House Art Weekend has organized a Chef´s competition and Chef´s Table on both days, 16th and 17th October from evening 16.30h to 20.30h.
DAY 1 & 2 | 12H-17H | POP-UP BRUNCH RESTAURANT by FUERTE FOOD TRUCK
Curated by Consuelo Astrada Garcia and a brilliant team of chefs whose philosophy is based on sustainability, KM0 produce, and zero waste. Indulge in the special Brunch curated by them from 12 p.m. onwards on both days. With a focus on healthy and funky slow food concepts their dishes are fused with the traditional Canarian gastronomy and Latin American, especially for those who have a more cared and healthy, gluten-free, dairy-free, or derivatives-free, sugar-free refined, all homemade and baked.

- Chef Gustavo Astrada Riera from la Mammacita will be dishing seafood & fish specialties

- Chef Lucio Luis Romero Malpartida will be adding weight to a special culinary treat in local seafood
