The Consejero de Educación of the Canary Islands has urged educational centers to utilize their funds to purchase fans, citing a lack of maintenance in existing facilities during the opening ceremony for the 2026-2027 vocational training academic year at IES San Diego de Alcalá.
Poli Suárez emphasized the government’s commitment to a naturalization plan, which includes the installation of shaded areas and a climatization strategy across all schools. He acknowledged that classrooms in the Canary Islands are not adequately prepared for climate change, attributing this shortfall to insufficient maintenance and adaptation of educational facilities.
