Manuel Miranda, the Minister of Territorial Policy, Territorial Cohesion, and Water for the Canary Islands, has announced new interventions aimed at curbing the expansion of illegal settlements on Fuerteventura. He stated that the government will take action over the coming months while also working on a reform of the Land Law, which will impose stricter urban sanctions and extend the statute of limitations on urban planning cases.
Miranda specifically mentioned the Gran Tarajal settlement, which has seen administrative actions stalled due to intervention by the Public Prosecutor’s Office and subsequent legal proceedings.
Fuerteventura is one of the Canary Islands, known for its beautiful beaches and unique landscapes.
