The Government of the Canary Islands has announced that a new decree regulating camping and motorhome areas will come into effect in September 2023. This regulation addresses the ongoing debate surrounding the increasing number of camping sites and overnight stays along the coast of Fuerteventura, a topic of significant concern in recent years. Miguel Ángel Rodríguez, the director general of tourist promotion, made this announcement during an interview on the program “La Voz de Fuerteventura” on Radio Insular. The decree aims to provide clearer guidelines and management of camping practices on the island.
