The Government of the Canary Islands has launched a new prevention campaign titled “Respect the Flag, Respect the Rules,” aimed at raising awareness about the importance of safety in the water. Presented by Manuel Miranda, the Councillor for Territorial Policy, the initiative, developed by the General Directorate of Emergencies, encourages both residents and visitors to adhere to beach signage and follow lifeguard instructions to prevent drowning incidents.
During the event, attended by Montserrat Román from the Civil Protection service and local community representatives, the campaign emphasized the urgent need to avoid risky behaviors that could jeopardize lives at beaches and swim zones.
Fuerteventura is a popular destination known for its beautiful beaches and water activities, making water safety an essential consideration for visitors.
