V Feria de Oportunidades: A Celebration of Culture and Commerce in Puerto del Rosario
On Thursday, April 30, the Ayuntamiento de Puerto del Rosario proudly unveiled the fifth edition of its beloved Feria de Oportunidades, set to transform the bustling street of Primero de Mayo into an exciting hub of activity on May 16 and 17. This annual event has become a staple in the local calendar, promising not just opportunities for shopping but also a dynamic cultural experience that appeals to all ages.
A Vibrant Marketplace Awaits
This year’s Feria, organized in collaboration with the Asociación de Empresarios Puerto del Rosario, will feature nearly fifty commercial tents. These tents will offer a wide-ranging selection of goods, attracting residents and visitors alike. Beyond shopping, attendees can immerse themselves in a rich program filled with activities—live music performances will create an electrifying atmosphere, while workshops catered to both children and adults will provide engaging learning opportunities. Adding to the excitement are the raffles with prizes totaling €1,500, vehicle and motorcycle exhibitions, and theatrical interactions designed to enhance the event’s lively ambiance.

A Cultural and Charitable Initiative
One of the standout features of this edition is its cultural and charitable dimension. Poetry will take center stage, as initiatives such as the “árbol de los poemas” allow for creative expression and connection with attendees. A poetess will engage the audience emotionally, while culinary offerings will link to fundraising efforts for the Asociación de Cáncer Metastásico de mama de Fuerteventura, promoting a sense of community solidarity.
Mayor David de Vera emphasized the importance of the Feria, stating, “This event is much more than a commercial opportunity; it’s a gathering place for citizens, a means to invigorate our streets, and a way to support those who contribute daily to the economic fabric of our town.” His words encapsulate the essence of the Feria, positioning it as a vital community affair.

The Councilor for Commerce, Tacoremi Gutiérrez, highlighted the event’s diverse offerings. “We’ve actively worked to create a fair that caters to everyone. It beautifully blends local commerce, culture, leisure, and solidarity. Each edition confirms that people engage, partake, and reclaim this space as their own,” she noted.

There’s palpable excitement surrounding the event, fueled by collective effort and a clear vision to energize Puerto del Rosario,” she remarked.

The V Feria de Oportunidades will occur on Friday, May 16, from 10:00 AM to 8:30 PM, and on Saturday, May 17, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Primero de Mayo.
