Free Digital Skills Training Program
The Cabildo of Fuerteventura is set to launch a new edition of its digital skills training program in the municipality of Betancuria. This initiative aims to help the local community navigate the digital landscape with greater confidence and autonomy. Eager learners will gather in Betancuria for a fresh round of workshops on essential digital competencies.

Scheduled for June 10th and 11th, the sessions will take place at the Archaeological Museum of Betancuria, running from 4:00 PM to 7:45 PM. Importantly, this training will be accessible to individuals of all ages and skill levels, making it a truly inclusive opportunity.
Carmen Alonso, the Councilor of New Technologies, emphasized the significance of integrating digital tools into everyday life. She noted, “Our goal is to provide practical knowledge that helps bridge the digital divide across all municipalities on the island.” This sentiment illustrates the Cabildo’s commitment to enhancing digital literacy among its citizens.
Hands-On Learning for Everyday Skills
Participants in this two-day program will engage in practical lessons designed to simplify the use of smartphones, tablets, and computers. The workshops will cover essential internet skills, email management, and the most commonly used applications, all aimed at enhancing participants’ comfort with technology.
Furthermore, the curriculum will delve into essential topics such as online administrative processes, digital communication, and a basic introduction to artificial intelligence. This multifaceted approach ensures that attendees will be equipped with tools relevant not just in personal contexts but also for administrative tasks.
Open Access and No Fees
Participation in the program is completely free. Interested individuals can simply drop in for the sessions without prior registration, removing barriers to access. This open-door policy reflects a commitment to community engagement and accessibility.
For those looking to reserve a spot or gather additional information, a dedicated contact number has been provided by the organizers. This ensures that everyone has the chance to participate and benefit from the program.
The initiative is in collaboration with the Betancuria Town Hall and forms part of the broader Digital Competencies Program included in the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan. This underscores a comprehensive approach toward fostering digital inclusion and facilitating access to new technologies.
With this new training session, the Cabildo of Fuerteventura continues to spearhead efforts that promote digital literacy, making significant strides toward ensuring that all members of the community can thrive in today’s digital world. Betancuria stands ready to host another impactful edition of this digital skills program.
