The Opportunity Fair Returns to Puerto del Rosario This Weekend

Experience the IV Feria de Oportunidades This Weekend in Puerto del Rosario

This weekend, the heart of Puerto del Rosario will transform into a vibrant hub of commerce, culture, and community spirit with the much-anticipated IV Feria de Oportunidades. Organized by the Asociación Empresarios Puerto del Rosario, the event will take place on June 14 and 15, showcasing over 30 local shops offering enticing end-of-season discounts.

The Purpose of the Feria

The Feria de Oportunidades is more than just a shopping event; it aims to invigorate the local economy and promote responsible and local consumption. With a diverse program suitable for the entire family, the fair will feature live music, creative workshops, children’s areas, and solidarity gastronomy. Coupled with exciting raffles, the streets of Puerto del Rosario will become a social meeting point for both residents and visitors.

One of the highlights of the event will be the launch of the PROSA Comercio Local app, a digital platform designed to reward consumers instantly for their purchases during the event. The official unveiling is scheduled for Saturday, June 15, at 10:30 AM.

A Family-Friendly Program

The festivities will kick off on Saturday, June 14, with the fair opening its doors at 10:00 AM for the official inauguration. Throughout the morning, from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM, attendees can enjoy live music at three different locations along the street. Simultaneously, family-friendly workshops such as “Mi Molino Pop Up”, “Caritas de Cabras”, and face painting activities will be available from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, hosted by Pintadera Canarias.

From 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, the solidarity gastronomy area will feature Josele, known for his exquisite ham cutting, with proceeds going towards the Association of Family Members of People with Alzheimer’s and other Dementias of Fuerteventura (AFFA).

Afternoon Festivities

As the afternoon unfolds from 4:30 PM to 8:30 PM, face painting and glitter tattoos will continue to delight attendees. Creative workshops, including “Pintando con Alma Isleña”, will run from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, allowing families to engage in artistic endeavors. A variety of pizzas will also be served, with the proceeds supporting AFFA.

What to Expect on Sunday

Sunday, June 15, will commence with the official unveiling of the new PROSA Comercio Local app at 10:30 AM. Live music will again fill the streets from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM, and the Casa de Globos Cultural will welcome visitors until 3:00 PM, offering a Glitter Bar Bio and glitter tattoos from Pintadera Canarias.

Family workshops such as “Mi Talega Majorera” and “Cabrito y Pastores” will take place from 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM. During this time, a photo booth with a Wheel of Fortune and a Fame Corner will be active for those looking to snap memorable moments.

Moreover, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, the solidarity gastronomy area featuring GastroMajo and Josele will continue raising funds for AFFA. Gift vouchers will be presented to lucky shoppers at 2:30 PM, just before the fair officially wraps up at 3:00 PM.
