Ráfaga to headline Nuestra Señora de La Antigua 2026 festival

Antigua is set to host 17 days of festivities from August 24 to September 8, 2026, honoring Nuestra Señora de La Antigua. The celebrations will feature a diverse program of music, tradition, sports, and activities suitable for all ages. A highlight of the event will be the performance by the renowned Argentine cumbia band Ráfaga on September 5, starting at 11:00 PM, following a tribute to Mecamela. The festivities will also include a pilgrimage and offering to the Virgin, communal meals, a tribute to traditional Canarian wrestling, fireworks, concerts, and various sporting events. The official opening speech will take place on August 28, delivered by parish priest Isidoro Sánchez López. The local government invites residents of Antigua and the broader Fuerteventura community to participate in the celebrations. Antigua is known for its rich cultural heritage and is located in the central part of Fuerteventura, one of Spain’s Canary Islands.
