AM-CC criticizes demolition of 150-year-old house in Pájara

AM-CC has criticized the demolition of a house over 150 years old in Pájara, expressing concerns about the haste exhibited by the Costas Authority. The nationalist party is urging for the transfer of coastal management responsibilities to the Canary Islands and has called for the postponement of the planned demolition set for August 26 in Cueva de la Negra. AM-CC argues that the residence represents the last remnant of an ancient coastal settlement in Jandía and forms part of the island’s historical and ethnographic heritage. They claim that the family requested a precautionary suspension and a moratorium on July 15, but have not received a resolution prior to the demolition date being scheduled.
Pájara is known for its rich history and cultural heritage along the southwestern coast of Fuerteventura.
