Juambi Cabrera, a renowned teacher and social figure in Fuerteventura, has passed away. He dedicated three decades to education in La Oliva and was actively involved in promoting Canarian culture and supporting the Sahrawi cause. In 2002, he founded SaharaFuerte, an initiative linked to the “Vacaciones en Paz” program, which helps Sahrawi children spend time in Spain. Throughout his life, Cabrera also played a significant role in the Agrupación Folclórica de Tetir, celebrating and preserving traditional Canarian music and dance.
La Oliva is a municipality in Fuerteventura, known for its cultural heritage and community engagement.
