Puerto del Rosario Launches the Social Employment Plan 2025-2026
The city council of Puerto del Rosario has proudly unveiled the Social Employment Plan 2025-2026—a new initiative aimed at providing job opportunities for local residents. This ambitious program will create positions for 61 individuals from the municipality, backed by a substantial investment exceeding 1.5 million euros.
Immediate Job Opportunities
In this initial phase of the plan, 34 workers will begin their roles across various municipal sectors. This opportunity not only enhances community services but also brings economic relief to those in need.
Funding and Support
The Social Employment Plan benefits from a collaboration between the Canary Employment Service, utilizing resources from the FDECAN funds, and the Puerto del Rosario city council, which contributes a significant portion of the total budget. This joint effort showcases the dedication of both local and regional authorities to tackle unemployment and support community development.
A Commitment to Community Welfare
The primary goal of the initiative is to provide job opportunities for individuals facing economic or social hardships while simultaneously reinforcing municipal services. The importance of such programs cannot be overstated, as they not only pave the way for employment but also uplift those in precarious circumstances.
Voices from Leadership
During the program presentation, Mayor David de Vera emphasized the profound impact of these public policies on the lives of residents. “This plan represents much more than just temporary employment. Behind each contract lies a personal story, a family, and a glimmer of hope. It’s crucial that public policies help individuals through challenging times and offer new perspectives,” he remarked.
Further reinforcing the significance of this initiative, Mayor de Vera discussed the substantial investment necessary for its annual execution. “We are talking about an investment of over 1.5 million euros aimed at creating opportunities in our municipality. It is a clear commitment to employment and enhancing the quality of life for our citizens,” he stressed.
Collaborative Efforts
Local Development Councillor Erica González highlighted that the Social Employment Plan is the result of coordinated efforts among various administrations and dedicated municipal staff. This teamwork not only facilitates temporary employment but also provides participants with valuable experiences that could lead to future opportunities.
“Behind each recruitment, there is significant groundwork to ensure everything runs smoothly, allowing individuals to maximize this opportunity,” González explained. She encouraged participants to actively engage in this new work phase and fully embrace their roles in public service.
Fostering Social Inclusion
The city council expressed gratitude to the technical staff and various municipal departments involved in the organization of the program. By initiating the Social Employment Plan 2025-2026, the Puerto del Rosario council continues to promote measures aimed at fostering social inclusion and generating employment for residents facing vulnerable situations.
This plan not only reflects a commitment to addressing immediate employment needs but also underlines the broader goal of enhancing community well-being, ensuring that every resident has the chance to thrive.
