Fuerteventura’s Revival: The Grand Reopening of Jandía Golf by Livvo
Fuerteventura, the sun-kissed jewel of the Canary Islands, has embarked on a vibrant new chapter with the much-anticipated reopening of the Hotel Jandía Golf by Livvo and its meticulously renovated 18-hole golf course. Beyond simply welcoming back a hotel and a golf course, this reopening signifies the rejuvenation of a cherished community hub, reinventing a space that promises lively conversations, the sound of golf clubs striking balls, and festive toasts at sunset.
A Historic Investment
Following years of quietude, the Jandía complex is now pulsing with life once again, thanks to an impressive investment of nearly 12 million euros. But the true heart of this rebirth can be attributed to Miguel Ángel Donaire, the driving force behind this transformation. Together with an exceptional team, including Adolfo Mira, the course manager and greenkeeper, Jose Charro, the project architect, Oliver Rodriguez, the industrial engineer, Miguel Angel Seoanes, the site manager, and Juan Silva, the hotel director, they have worked tirelessly—often without set hours—to ensure that every detail meets the high expectations of Jandía’s legacy.

A Celebration of Community
The grand inauguration was a grand affair, bringing together around 150 guests from social, institutional, and business spheres across the island. Among those present were Hector Aleman, Operations Director of Livvo, Marlen Figueroa, the regional tourism counselor, and Alejandro Jesús Jorge Moreno, the mayor of Pájara. Their presence underscored the emotional significance of this event, which culminated in heartfelt applause and a symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony that heralded a joyous new era for Jandía.
Culinary Delights in New Spaces
In addition to revitalizing the golf course and hotel, the project has introduced a new gastronomic meeting point—the 19 by Pellizco restaurant, nestled in the former clubhouse. This culinary destination is helmed by Chef Rigoberto Almeida, recognized as the Revelación Chef of the Canaries for 2025. Patrons can expect not only a great game but also a superior dining experience, encapsulating the spirit of good play and fantastic food that this venue aims to offer.

A Golf Experience Like No Other
In sporting terms, Jandía Golf has reclaimed its distinctive character. Designed as a true links course, it offers challenges dictated by its windy conditions, where respect for each hole is paramount. Generous fairways and strategically placed bunkers ensure that players face both beauty and difficulty. The renowned hole 2, known for its stunning views, is particularly noteworthy, showcasing both toughness and picturesque charm.
Moreover, upcoming plans to redefine the course layout, placing the tee boxes for holes 1 and 10 adjacent to the hotel and establishing a panoramic terrace near the pro shop, invite guests to linger longer, share their stories, and celebrate their golfing journeys.
A Unique Blend of Tourism, Sports, and Gastronomy
With the return of Jandía Golf, combined with the vibrant atmosphere of its accompanying hotel, Fuerteventura is once again home to an essential destination where tourism, sports, and gastronomy intermingle beautifully. This revitalization ensures that visitors and locals alike can experience the energetic blend of nature, recreation, and culinary excellence that defines this enchanting island.
The spirit of Fuerteventura is alive and flourishing, ready to welcome everyone back to this hub of leisure and enjoyment.
