The incident occurred around 2:40 p.m., when the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands received a notice informing that several people had taken a swimmer who was in cardiorespiratory arrest out of the water. A medicalized ambulance, a basic life support ambulance and a medicalized helicopter from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) traveled to the scene, in addition to a doctor and a nurse from the Corralejo Health Center, members of the first-aid service, La Oliva Firefighters, Civil Protection, Local Police and the Civil Guard.
