The Thrilling Journey of Ángel Bello at the Subida a Betancuria

This weekend, Ángel Bello, the Tenerife driver and prominent leader in the Canary Islands Championship (CCM), is gearing up for another thrilling edition of the Subida a Betancuria. This time-honored event in Fuerteventura marks the first of three crucial races in the final stretch of the championship calendar, and Bello is heading into it with high hopes and an impressive track record.

After recovering his stunning Audi R8 LMS Ultra Evo, Ángel Bello is excited to take on the challenges of the event slated for Saturday. The majorera ramp is not just another race; it is a pivotal moment that could propel him closer to clinching his fourth title in this motor sport, with the possibility of securing a third consecutive win in his category.

Bello comes into the race at the top of the standings for touring cars, after achieving two victories and several podium finishes that give him a comfortable lead in the championship. “The victory we achieved in Gran Canaria a few weeks ago has granted us an even larger margin in the Championship,” he stated. “However, we cannot let our guards down until the title is mathematically secured. We need to stick to our plan.”

With Betancuria being a familiar territory for Bello, he feels confident heading into the event. “We have references from previous years, and that will help us gauge our progress effectively. There are many quality entrants this year, and I am sure the fans will enjoy the competition,” he adds eagerly.

In addition to his leading position in the regional championship, Bello is also making waves at the provincial level. Following solid performances in Haría and Montaña Alta, he has the opportunity to fortify his standings and aim for the podium once again in Fuerteventura.

The event will take place on Saturday, July 25. The day kicks off with administrative and technical checks in the picturesque Plaza de la Iglesia Virgen de La Peña early in the morning. At 1:00 PM, training sessions start, paving the way for two official ascents along the FV-30 road connecting Vega de Río Palma with the Mirador de Morro Velosa.

The majorera ramp spans a thrilling 6.55 km with an elevation difference of 472 m, featuring an average gradient of 5.55%. This combination of distance and incline promises excitement for both competitors and spectators alike.
