The Antigua City Council has announced the addition of four waste collection trucks to its service. This enhancement takes effect from the night of September 1, following the repair of two previously broken vehicles.
Mayor Juan Cabrera stated that two trucks will be actively in service while two will be on standby, aiming to clear accumulated waste and restore normalcy across various areas in the municipality. Cabrera expressed optimism that “all towns will be clean shortly.”
Additionally, he highlighted that on August 29, a contracting meeting was held to advance the awarding of a new waste collection service contract, with hopes that the new contractor will commence operations soon.
