Nightclub Closure in Puerto del Rosario: A Response to Safety Concerns
On the early morning of February 9, 2024, officers from the Local Police of Puerto del Rosario and the National Police took significant action by temporarily closing a nightclub in the city center. This decision was prompted by several alarming reports regarding the presence of underage individuals inside the venue.

The police’s intervention began after receiving multiple complaints about minors frequenting the establishment. Responding swiftly, the officers verified the situation on-site, leading to the identification of a staggering thirty-eight minors. When officers requested the club management to present the required permits and documentation—including approvals for construction work and proof of mandatory civil liability insurance—none could be provided. This lack of compliance with regulations underscored the venue’s inability to operate safely and legally.

Following the safe return of the minors to their guardians, the police proceeded with closing the nightclub and initiated formal proceedings against the establishment for severe infractions of the Law 7/2011, regulating classified activities and public performances. The case has been referred to the urban planning department at the Town Hall of Puerto del Rosario for further investigation and disciplinary action.
