Corralejo Hosts the Second Edition of the Paladea Festival: A Fusion of Culinary Delights and Cycling
This past weekend, the picturesque town of Corralejo in Fuerteventura buzzed with excitement as it hosted the second edition of the Paladea Festival. From La Mamma and Sanus Fuerteventura to establishments like Oasis Papagayo and the famous jamonería Iberic HAM Factory, the culinary offerings were nothing short of extraordinary. Attendees could also enjoy dishes from El Cotillo’s Marea Alta and Gastrobar Kalima, as well as Puerto del Rosario’s Muka Muka and La Jaira de Demian.

Among the standout dishes were mini ceviche arepas topped with avocado, refreshing salmorejo and ajo blanco popsicles, and mini goat burgers adorned with caramelized onions. The traditional Canarian minitacos filled with slow-cooked pork were also a must-try, as were the marinated mackerel toasts and squid in its ink. For those seeking plant-based options, a spinach and ginger meatball alongside a cabbage roll stuffed with vegetables and a balsamic almond reduction offered delightful alternatives.

As part of the festivities, the sixth edition of Fuertebike attracted more athletes than ever before, with 1,014 participants making it the largest cycling event in both Fuerteventura and the Canary Islands. The mountain bike race saw competitors from various regions, contributing to a lively atmosphere filled with camaraderie and competition.
In the 82-kilometer race, Blas Rivero and Carmen Luz emerged victorious in their respective categories, while Juan Ignacio Brito and Naira Tavio took the lead in the shorter 45-kilometer event. The timed trial added an extra layer of excitement, with Antonio Padrón claiming victory there.
