High temperatures and haze in Fuerteventura The Ministry of Education, Vocational Training, Physical Activity and Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands, following the instructions of the General Directorate of Emergencies and Civil Protection, and in accordance with the Protocol for action in the educational field in situations of high temperatures, has adopted the decision to move the teaching activity to online mode for the day this Tuesday, September 15, in all educational centers on the island of Fuerteventura and in the Gran Canaria municipalities of Agüimes, Artenara, Ingenio, Mogán, San Bartolomé de Tirajana, La Aldea de San Nicolás, Santa Lucía de Tirajana, Telde and Valsequillo, given the episode of maximum temperatures expected for this day. Likewise, the management teams may request the territorial or island directorates of Education, as appropriate, to apply the extraordinary measures provided for in the protocol: the early departure of students or the modification of the school schedule and curricular activities. In the case of early departure of minor students, this will be optional, cannot be done before 12:00 p.m. and must have the authorization of their legal representatives. Students who remain at the center will be served according to their school day, while dining and transportation services will maintain their usual schedules. The measures for the following days will be communicated based on the evolution of temperatures and the indications of the competent bodies. The Ministry recommends that the entire educational community follow the updates through the official channels of the Government of the Canary Islands and attend to the Emergency instructions at all times.
