Fuerteventura Expands Its Electric Vehicle Charging Network
Fuerteventura is making significant strides towards sustainable mobility with the recent addition of four new electric vehicle (EV) charging points. This move brings the total number of operational public chargers on the island to 16, marking a critical development in the region’s commitment to modernizing its transportation infrastructure.
Investment in Sustainability
The expansion of the electric vehicle charging infrastructure represents a substantial financial commitment, backed by an investment of €213,570.17, funded through the European Next Generation EU initiative. This funding aims to modernize and enhance renewable energy solutions across the European Union, aligning perfectly with Fuerteventura’s goals for sustainable development.
New Charging Locations
The new charging points, each with a capacity of 22 kW, are strategically placed across various locations on the island to maximize accessibility for EV users. These charging stations can accommodate two vehicles simultaneously, effectively reducing wait times and promoting a smoother experience for drivers. The newly installed points are located in:
- Valle de Santa Inés
- Vega de Río Palmas (Betancuria)
- Calle Antonio Espinosa, Puerto del Rosario
- Calle Laural, Morro Jable (Pájara)

Additionally, five more 22 kW chargers will soon be operational in:
