Fuerteventura is gearing up for one of its most anticipated celebrations: the Festivals in Honor of Our Lady of La Peña 2025. Taking place from September 13 to 21 in the Vega de Río Palmas, Betancuria, this festival will include a rich array of events that blend religious devotion, cultural activities, and sports, drawing thousands of pilgrims and visitors around the island’s patron.

Rayco León, the Cultural Counselor, further pointed out that the events will be “days of gathering around the patroness, featuring children’s activities, music, sports, gastronomy, and folk gatherings.” Enrique Cerdeña, the Mayor of Betancuria, assured that “everything is prepared to welcome those who come to the festivals with open arms.”

In a representative statement from the Diocese of the Canaries, Aday García reminded attendees of the significance of religious events and the devotion to the Virgin. The official herald of this year, Inma de Armas, revealed that her speech will provide “a reflection on the history that connects the entire island, from north to south and east to west.”
