La Carpa sets a record for attendance in Fuerteventura with The Jacksons and 17 nights of music.

La Carpa 2026: A Historic Gathering in Fuerteventura

La Carpa 2026 recently concluded its most successful edition to date, held at the stunning Playa de la Barca in Sotavento de Jandía. From July 16 to August 1, the festival, organized by DN7 Music, brought together music fans for 17 consecutive nights of exhilarating performances, achieving full capacity on multiple occasions.

Expanded Venue Capacity

In this second edition, spearheaded by promoter David Navarro, the venue’s capacity increased to 4,500 attendees, up from 3,000, reflecting a substantial response to the growing audience while maintaining a focus on safety and the festival’s festive spirit. This expansion demonstrates the organizers’ commitment to facilitating a larger crowd without sacrificing the event’s intimate atmosphere.

A Historic Performance by The Jacksons

The pinnacle of this festival’s lineup was undoubtedly the performance by The Jacksons on July 22. This legendary American group made their debut in Fuerteventura, offering a memorable night filled with their classic pop, soul, and funk hits. For Navarro, hosting The Jacksons wasn’t just a milestone for La Carpa; it marked a significant moment in the cultural landscape of all of the Canary Islands.

An Unforgettable Opening Night

The festivities kicked off on July 16 with the premiere of the Bresh party in Fuerteventura. This inaugural day was made even more special with a surprise appearance by Puerto Rican singer Luar La L, who engaged with the audience by immersing himself into the crowd multiple times, creating an electrifying atmosphere that led to a sold-out event.

Diverse Musical Styles Take Center Stage

Throughout its duration, La Carpa showcased a rich tapestry of musical genres that catered to diverse tastes. On July 21, Ñengo Flow, a prominent figure in the reggaeton and Latin trap scenes, took to the stage, drawing one of the festival’s largest crowds. Similarly, electronic music was well represented, with Aarón Sevilla performing alongside Alba Dreid and DJ Álex Monserrat on July 28, while Wade headlined on July 23 with a star-studded lineup including Fran Hernández and Miguel Bastida.

Celebrating Local Talent

The festival also prioritized local Canarian talent, featuring over twenty artists and DJs from the islands across various themed events. This inclusion provided a vital platform for local musicians and emphasized the festival’s connection to its community.

Musical Solidarity with Las Chicas del Klan

One of the standout new acts this year was Las Chicas del Klan, a group of five singers and four dancers who performed on July 29. Their energetic showcase blended Latin and urban rhythms and served a philanthropic purpose as well. The performance contributed to ‘Cada actuación, una esperanza,’ a project aimed at raising funds for the Metastatic Breast Cancer Association of Fuerteventura, further solidifying the festival’s commitment to social responsibility.

Fusion of Music and Sports

La Carpa 2026 also coincided with the World Windsurfing and Wingfoil Championships in Fuerteventura. The synergy between the two events was amplified with a live broadcast of the championship final, which drew thousands to the site and culminated in a celebratory atmosphere following Spain’s victory. For the first time, the awards ceremony for the championship took place on the main festival stage, melding the excitement of competition with musical entertainment.

A Memorable Closing

The festival culminated in a vibrant finale with a performance by Dominican artist Omega during the Fiesta Red Bull on July 31. The final night on August 1 featured DJ Candy Boy, the official DJ for Yandel, along with a surprise appearance from Bandi2, rounding out an unforgettable summer of music and celebration.

La Carpa 2026 has firmly established itself as a highlight of the summer musical calendar in Fuerteventura, with record attendance and a well-executed lineup that set a new standard for future editions.
