From Studio Project to Live Sensation

Machete Law, the Barcelona-based crossover thrash band, began as a studio-only project in 2023, born from the creative synergy of longtime friends. However, the initial spark ignited a firestorm of interest, leading to live performance opportunities alongside underground heavyweights like Foreseen and Pest Control. Guitarist Victor Blutwurst recalls, “Shortly after releasing that song, we got several calls to open shows, so we decided to start doing live shows.” What was once a one-off recording idea has transformed into a fully active band, now touring across Spain and even making waves in Japan.

A Unique Musical Fusion

Musically, Machete Law occupies a unique space at the crossroads of hardcore punk, thrash, and death metal. Drawing inspiration from iconic bands such as Leeway, Cro-Mags, Demolition Hammer, Power Trip, Strife, and Vio-lence, their sound is both aggressive and sharp, rooted in crossover tradition yet delivered with a modern intensity. The band’s lyrical themes delve into a variety of heavy subjects, including inner struggles, political corruption, war, and economic instability—reflecting both personal and global tensions.

New Music and Collaborations

Recently, Machete Law released a new single titled “Gunfire Ritual,” which is part of their upcoming EP, Liturgy of Violence. This track features a guest appearance from members of the Japanese thrash band FASTKILL, showcasing the band’s expanding international reach. Blutwurst elaborates, “Our lyrics cover topics like inner struggle, social issues, political corruption, drug and war conflicts.”

Building Momentum

Machete Law has also recently completed recording their second EP, continuing to build on the momentum from their earlier demo and 7” release. Currently on the lookout for a record deal for their new material, the band remains focused on getting their music out and hitting the road as much as possible.

The Barcelona Scene

Back in Barcelona, the local music scene is gradually regaining strength, with bands like Eight Ounces, L’irreal Omega, and Public Intoxication contributing to its revival. For Machete Law, 2026 is shaping up to be a breakout year. Fresh off their tour in Japan, the band has also been confirmed to perform at the Barcelona Rock Fest, sharing the stage with legendary acts like Megadeth, Testament, and Loudness.

Ready for the World

Blutwurst expresses the band’s readiness to take on new challenges, stating, “We are ready to hit any country.” With new material on the horizon and a growing international presence, Machete Law is poised to make a significant impact on the global music scene.
