María Patiño: From Setbacks to Success in Fuerteventura
The renowned Spanish journalist María Patiño has been a notable figure in the media landscape for years. After the abrupt exit of ‘Sálvame’ from the television schedule, she faced an uncertain period marked by challenges. However, Patiño has found her footing again, happily presenting ‘Ni que fuéramos… shhh’ on TEN and Twitch. Despite her professional recovery, she openly acknowledges the necessity of taking certain measures during her hiatus from work.
A Dream Investment in Fuerteventura
In spring 2022, María Patiño and her husband Ricardo Rodríguez seized an incredible opportunity by investing over half a million euros in a stunning dream house located in Corralejo, one of Fuerteventura’s most popular tourist spots. This exquisite property, positioned just a short stroll from the beach, boasts breathtaking views of the ocean and the adjacent Isla de Lobos.
The villa itself is generously sized at 229 m², spread across two levels. It features three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and an outdoor area surrounded by magnificent palm trees. The ground floor is home to a cozy living room adorned with mustard-yellow sofas and white wooden furniture that adds a delightful island charm. The kitchen is well-equipped and semi-open to the living-dining area, fostering a sense of spaciousness and togetherness.
A Flourishing Vacation Rental Business
Last summer, the vacation rental business proved to be a resounding success for María and Ricardo, achieving full occupancy throughout the peak months. “The rental of the villa is going wonderfully. A week in the second half of August for six people would cost around 1,500 euros,” María shared enthusiastically.
Guests can enjoy this chalet for a price range of 250 to 300 euros per night, depending on the day of the week and the season. However, there is a requirement of at least a three-night stay along with a refundable deposit of 400 euros. The villa is equipped with modern amenities, including television, Wi-Fi, and other comforts, to ensure a delightful experience for visitors.
More Than Just a Revenue Stream
Apart from being a profitable investment and personal sanctuary, Villa Corralejo Bay symbolizes a deep, emotional connection for María with the island of Fuerteventura. Following the loss of her parents, Patiño made a conscious decision to embrace the present. As she expressed in a heartfelt social media post: “Since I lost my parents, I decided to live in the moment. You arrived, Fuerteventura, and I fell in love with you.”
This summer, it seems that the villa’s popularity has not waned; in fact, it is projected to maintain its full booking status despite the increase in prices. Presently, María resides in a luxurious rental apartment in Madrid alongside her husband and son, with their Fuerteventura home being their only property.
Creating a Lasting Connection
María Patiño’s journey illustrates not just resilience but also an ability to adapt and evolve in the face of challenges. Her dream home in Fuerteventura has become more than a mere vacation rental; it stands as a testament to her personal journey and emotional healing, encapsulating both the spirit of the island and her own story of perseverance and love for life.
