Laying the Foundation for a Green Lifestyle

Introduction to Environmental Initiatives

In a world increasingly aware of environmental issues, local communities are stepping up to make a difference. The Ngoc Hoi Commune Farmers’ Association is at the forefront of this movement, recognizing that its farmer members are essential in creating a vibrant, green, and clean rural environment. Starting in 2026, the Association developed a comprehensive plan to educate its members on waste management practices, aligning with the 2020 Environmental Protection Law and the 2026 Capital City Law.

Innovative Dissemination Methods

Rather than relying on traditional methods of information dissemination, the Farmers’ Association opted for content that resonates with the daily lives of its members. This includes practical guidance on sorting organic waste, recycling, and minimizing the use of plastic products. The approach combines awareness campaigns with hands-on exercises, allowing members to apply their newfound knowledge immediately in their homes.

Building Community Engagement

In March 2026, the Farmers’ Association launched the “Farmers Protecting the Environment and Responding to Climate Change” model, along with the “Farmers Protecting the Environment” Club. This initiative aims to create a core network of members who can disseminate information and mobilize community participation in environmental protection at the grassroots level.

Collaborative Efforts with Women’s Union

On July 29, 2026, a seminar titled “Farmers and Women of Ngoc Hoi Build a Green Lifestyle” was organized in collaboration with the Women’s Union. This event focused on responsible consumption and community health, culminating in a commitment to implement waste sorting practices. Participants were educated on sorting household waste, processing organic waste, and reducing single-use plastics.

Commitment to Environmental Protection

The signing of the commitment by representatives from various branches signifies a collective determination to innovate and integrate environmental protection into daily life. This initiative aims to make environmental stewardship a regular activity for every member and family.

Practical Models for Waste Management

A standout feature of the Ngoc Hoi Commune Farmers’ Association’s approach is its focus on developing practical models that members can easily implement. In 2026, the Association organized five conferences and seminars dedicated to household waste management. Each program included practical guidance and addressed challenges faced by members.

To date, six models have been established, such as “Ngoc Hoi Farmers Sort Waste – Living Green Every Day” and “Farmers Say No to Single-Use Plastic Waste.” These models are designed to be easily maintained and replicated.

Innovative Community Projects

In addition to waste management, the Association has initiated two “Farmers’ Flower Gardens” in Xuan Ne and Vinh Thinh villages, enhancing the environmental landscape and creating green spaces in residential areas. Other innovative projects include the “Green House – Civilized Waste Collection Station,” where members collect recyclable waste to fund humanitarian activities.

Spreading the Green Message

The environmental protection movement led by the Farmers’ Association is gaining momentum, integrating seamlessly with local socio-economic development initiatives. In the first half of 2026, the Association organized 14 conferences covering various topics, including environmental protection, with over 2,500 participants.

More than 200 articles and multimedia content have been shared on digital platforms, amplifying the reach of effective environmental practices.

Ongoing Environmental Activities

Regular environmental cleanup campaigns have been organized, with over 500 members participating. In response to the Tree Planting Festival, more than 500 flowering plants and 212 fruit trees have been planted, contributing to a greener and more beautiful community.

Cultivating Environmental Awareness

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong Linh, Chairwoman of the Farmers’ Association, the ultimate goal is to instill a sense of environmental responsibility in each member. This involves making small, everyday actions—like sorting waste and reducing plastic use—part of their routine.

With the motto “each member is a propagandist, each family is a shining example of environmental protection,” the Ngoc Hoi Commune Farmers’ Association is committed to expanding its initiatives and promoting existing models for a sustainable future.
