The excitement of summer resonates deeply in many coastal towns, and last weekend at the Beach Party in Caleta de Fuste, that energy was palpable. The first mayor emphasized the tranquility and positive atmosphere that prevailed throughout the festival. Families gathered to enjoy high-quality live music, reveling in a joyful summer experience. Even with the soaring temperatures, the event managed to proceed smoothly, thanks largely to its stunning seaside location and a well-coordinated security presence ensuring safety.
Tourism Councilor Extols the Team Effort
Sebastiana Verde, the Tourism and Beaches Councilor for the Antigua City Council, shared her delight about the event’s success and took the opportunity to commend those who made it happen. “I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the technical team for their diligent work, the companies involved, and the entire organizing body. Without their efforts, we wouldn’t have been able to host the Beach Party, a high-caliber musical and leisure event that positions both Antigua and Caleta de Fuste on the summer concert map of the Canary Islands,” Verde proclaimed with enthusiasm.
She also highlighted the challenges they faced, noting, “Although we had only been in government for a month, I collaborated tirelessly with the mayor and our team to pull off the Beach Party. There were numerous permits and bureaucratic hurdles to conquer for the event to take place.” This statement underscores the rigorous institutional efforts made within a tight timeframe to guarantee that this festival went off without a hitch.
A Star-Studded Lineup and Diverse Cultural Offerings
The second day of the festival was a musical feast, featuring performances by renowned artists from both the Canary Islands and the broader national scene. Highlights from the night of August 1st included the electrifying performances of Los Salvapantallas, DJ Doctor Maxi, Tay de León, Juan Blazer, and Miguel Lara. The event also paid homage to Elton John, adding an emotional touch to the evening’s offerings, alongside stirring performances from Lucho RK and the Capital Party Band. Organizers described the night as magical, further enhancing the summer experience on the beautiful shores of Fuerteventura.
This festival was not only a musical showcase; it was organized by the Tourism Council of the Antigua City Council, in partnership with the Cabildo Insular de Fuerteventura, the Tourism Board, and various other organizations. Beyond the captivating performances, the Beach Party provided a plethora of cultural and sporting activities tailored for the open beach setting, solidifying its image as a family-oriented and inclusive festival.
