Puerto del Rosario approves over 18.5 million in investments to promote projects throughout the municipality.

The Investive Push by the Ayuntamiento de Puerto del Rosario

The Ayuntamiento de Puerto del Rosario has made headlines recently as it continues to champion one of the most significant public investment programs in recent years. In a regular plenary session held on June 29, the municipality approved an incorporation of remanents amounting to €8,976,234.18. This infusion of funds will be pivotal in financing new improvement initiatives related to infrastructure, public spaces, municipal equipment, and various services.

A Comprehensive Financial Strategy

This recent incorporation of remanents is a crucial addition to the Plurianual Investment Plan, which was previously approved by the council in May, with an impressive allocation of €9,529,660.32. Together, these financial maneuvers translate to an overall investment exceeding €18.5 million aimed at transforming various areas within the municipality.

Mayor David de Vera highlighted the administration’s commitment to addressing the real needs of the community. He stated, “We continue to take firm steps to respond to the real needs of the municipality. The approval of this incorporation of remanents, combined with the plurianual plan approved in the last plenary session, mobilizes over €18.5 million in investments primarily aimed at executing works and actions that will enhance the quality of life for our residents.”

Responsible Economic Management

Highlighting the importance of diligent fiscal management, the Economic and Treasury Councilor, Juan Manuel Verdugo, emphasized that the incorporation of remanents demonstrates a rigorous and responsible approach to economic administration. He stated, “Every euro we incorporate into the budget has a specific destination and responds to needs identified in our neighborhoods, towns, and infrastructures.” This reflects the administration’s commitment to direct these resources effectively toward community requirements.

Verdugo further expanded on the significance of the financial strategy. By combining the recent incorporation with the earlier Plurianual Plan, the Ayuntamiento positions over €18.5 million for municipal development initiatives. This careful planning enables considerable projects without compromising the city’s financial stability, ensuring efficient and sustainable management of public funds.

Projected Developments Under the Incorporation of Remanents

The various improvements financed through these remanents include essential activities such as drafting new municipal projects, acquiring equipment for community events, digitalizing municipal archives, and renewing the public lighting system. Additional enhancements will cover educational infrastructures, a new street paving plan, rehabilitation of cultural and historic spaces, upgrades to parks and green areas, improvements in sports facilities, and implementing a Fiber Optic Plan.

Furthermore, the project list encompasses the creation of the Ampuyenta Youth Dynamization Center, a tourism-driven façade plan, and the construction of a new roundabout on Secundino Alonso. Additionally, multiple public space rehabilitation initiatives are also on the agenda—further emphasizing the Ayuntamiento’s commitment to enhancing community spaces.

Strategic Projects Demand Bigger Investments

The Plurianual Investment Plan is set to initiate broader strategic projects in the coming years. Notable future developments include a comprehensive renewal of the Charco neighborhood, much-needed improvements in Las Granadas, and infrastructural enhancements focusing on roadway safety in rural locations. Other ambitious projects list the conditioning of access to Sunco in Puerto Lajas and constructing the La Matilla Cultural Center.

The plan will also facilitate the execution of a new Fire Station, expected improvements in Playa Blanca, and actions directed at Fontán Lobe and the development of the Risco Prieto Park—crucial elements that will shape the municipality between 2026 and 2029.

A Clear Roadmap for Progress

Through these two economic operations, the Ayuntamiento has devised a roadmap that outlines a progressive execution plan. This strategy aims to ensure that the necessary budget is available for large-scale projects, while simultaneously addressing the numerous demands from the diverse neighborhoods and towns across the municipality.

The Ayuntamiento de Puerto del Rosario remains steadfast in its dedication to fostering a development model that emphasizes upgrading public infrastructure, modernizing municipal services, and creating safer, more accessible, and functional spaces for every resident in the community.
