Puerto del Rosario Welcomes the Kings with Excitement and Joy
This Friday, Puerto del Rosario will buzz with anticipation, smiles, and a tremendous dose of joy as the Reyes Magos (Three Kings) make their much-anticipated visit. Preparations have been painstakingly laid out across different corners of the city to ensure that every child can experience the magic of one of the year’s most celebrated nights.
Morning Activities: A Touch of Compassion
The festivities kick off at 10:30 AM when the Reyes Magos make their first stop at local municipal daycare centers. This heartfelt visit is a wonderful opportunity for little ones to meet Sus Majestades up close, and one can already feel the excitement in the air. Following this, at 11:30 AM, the Kings will head to the Virgen de la Peña General Hospital. Here, they will share touching moments with the young patients who, due to various circumstances, are unable to celebrate at home. Their gentle presence promises to bring smiles and perhaps some much-needed distraction to the children receiving care.
Afternoon Excitement: An Inclusive Parade
As the day progresses, the excitement ramps up for the highly anticipated inclusive parade, set to commence at 6 PM. Melchor, Gaspar, and Baltasar will arrive at the Commercial Dock, where a special area designed for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) has been prepared. In collaboration with the Fundación Canaria de Apoyo a los Trastornos del Neurodesarrollo (FUNTEAC), this area will provide a calming environment free from disruptive noises, ensuring that every child can delight in the festivities.
A Festive Journey Through the City
The grand parade officially kicks off at 6:30 PM, beginning from the Commercial Dock. The route will wind through the Avenida Ruperto González Negrín, Avenida Reyes de España, and the streets of Duero and Secundino Alonso, ending at the Barranco Pilón parking lot. What’s particularly noteworthy is the inclusion of children with reduced mobility. Thanks to the cooperation of local associations like Adisfuer and Adivia, these young ones can enjoy the parade aboard the specially designed Tren Real, making the event even more special for everyone involved.
Final Festivities: A Giant Crèche and More
After the parade, the Reyes Magos will await the children at a Giant Crèche, providing an enchanting backdrop for delivering letters and sharing dreams. This gathering will also feature a vibrant Christmas market where families can browse and partake in a variety of activities designed to keep the festive spirit alive. Children can engage with the various animations set up for entertainment, ensuring that there are fun and memorable experiences for everyone.
The Tradition Continues in Los Estancos
Meanwhile, the spirits will soar in Los Estancos, where a traditional cabalgata will unfold at 6:30 PM. This parade has been a beloved tradition for over 40 years, winding through the village streets and culminating at the town square. In a delightful addition, children will receive their long-awaited presents, and community members will be serving up delicious chocolate and homemade rosquetes, adding a delightful gastronomic touch to the festivities.
A Kings’ Visit to La Asomada
The joyful celebrations don’t stop there. The Reyes Magos will also journey to La Asomada, where another cabalgata is set to begin at 8 PM, bringing the spirit of the Three Kings to even more families and children eager for the evening’s magic.
From heartfelt hospital visits to lively parades and community interactions, Puerto del Rosario is set for a day filled with joy, compassion, and inclusivity—truly embodying the spirit of Christmas. Whether you’re a child waiting with excitement or an adult reminiscing about your own experiences, this day promises to lift hearts and spark smiles all around.
