This vibrant event, organized by the dedicated Sergio Pérez, not only brings together competitive racers but also nurtures a love for cycling in young participants. The challenging and spectacular route for the cronoescalada is complemented by circuits designed for the schools, where the priority is for children to enjoy the experience and remain connected to cycling,” he asserted.

Highlighting the event’s significance, the Mayor of Puerto del Rosario, David de Vera, remarked on the vital role these events play in promoting physical activity and invigorating the community. “Puerto Lajas once again proves its capacity to host high-quality sports events that attract participants from all over the island. In addition to creating a healthy, family-friendly atmosphere, these initiatives help highlight our natural spaces and bring sports closer to the community,” he noted, clearly proud of his municipality’s efforts.

Adding to the enthusiasm, the Councilor for Sports, Luis Chacón, highlighted the significant growth the event has witnessed over the years. “The Cronoescalada Valhondo and the MTB Schools Race have become a benchmark for mountain biking enthusiasts. We are especially pleased to see how each edition attracts new participants and how young people find in these competitions a chance to start their journey in this sport,” affirmed Chacón, showcasing a keen awareness of the event’s evolution.
