The retired vessel Conquistador Pirata has begun its removal from the dock in Gran Tarajal, following four years of occupation. The efforts to dismantle the ship will resume now that the provisional judicial proceedings have been archived. The operations will ensure the preservation of various elements of the vessel that hold historical significance.
The removal process includes the handover of several parts to the Cultural Heritage office, such as the anchor, a section of the chain, the scuppers, the bow elements, the windlass, the figurehead, and a fragment of the prow.
Gran Tarajal is a central town on the east coast of Fuerteventura, known for its picturesque harbor and history.
