The Beach Party Returns to Caleta de Fuste as Caleta Sound Fest After Five Years, Stronger Than Ever with an Impressive Lineup

Caleta Sound Fest: A Summer Highlight in Fuerteventura

This August, the stunning El Castillo Beach in Caleta de Fuste is set to come alive as it hosts the much-anticipated Caleta Sound Fest. The festival, formerly known as the Beach Party, is scheduled for the 1st and 2nd of August and aims to be one of the standout events of the summer in Fuerteventura. With an impressive lineup of concerts, dynamic DJs, musical tributes, a vibrant food zone, and inclusive spaces catering to all audiences, this festival promises to be a feast for the senses.

Official Launch and Purpose

The official presentation of Caleta Sound Fest took place at the Antigua City Hall, where local officials unveiled the festival’s details. The event is not only set to entertain but also aims to solidify its reputation as a major summer attraction in Fuerteventura. Featuring headliners such as Luck Ra on Friday night and Chambao on Saturday, the festival will provide a diverse repertoire of music appealing to various age groups and musical preferences.

Economic Commitment and Local Support

During the presentation, Matías Peña, the Mayor of Antigua, emphasized the significant financial investment required to revive this beloved event. He stated, “We have had to allocate almost 400,000 euros. The Cabildo has contributed 35,000, but we believe it’s insufficient for such an important event in a tourist-heavy area.” He called on the Insular Tourism Department to enhance its financial support for future editions, suggesting a funding increase to 100,000 euros for next year to ensure the sustainability of similar events in the locality.

Enhancements and Innovations

The Tourism Councillor, Kristina Rodewig, highlighted that this year’s festival will have a fresh look, featuring significant upgrades in accessibility and attendee experience. “The festival is returning with many innovations under the name Caleta Sound Fest. It will be held back at its original location, the beach, thanks to authorization from Costas,” she stated. Improvements include a modern gastronomic area, a violet point for support against gender-based violence, and ample access for individuals with reduced mobility.

Despite the enthusiasm, Rodewig expressed her frustrations regarding budget constraints, reiterating that the limited financial backing from the Cabildo restricts the festival’s potential. “We would have liked to offer more activities, but it hasn’t been feasible.”

Commitment to Community Involvement

In response to these challenges, Marlene Figueroa, the Insular Tourism Councillor, acknowledged the municipality’s efforts and stressed the event’s broader significance. “The entire Fuerteventura will participate in the Beach Party; it’s not just a municipal event but one that encompasses the entire island.” She also committed to exploring increased funding for future editions, sharing her intention to pitch these needs to the president of the Cabildo.

Festival Logistics and Schedule

Caleta Sound Fest will feature two distinct stages—one main stage and another daytime stage—offering continuous programming from 5 PM on Friday and from noon on Saturday until the early hours of Sunday. Notably, the festival coincides with the Bola Canaria Tournament, which is expected to draw a significant crowd of both locals and tourists throughout the weekend.

As Fuerteventura gears up for this exciting festival, anticipation in the community and beyond grows. The blend of top-tier music, culinary delights, and inclusive activities ensures that the Caleta Sound Fest is a celebration that many will look forward to, marking an essential date on the summer calendar.
