The General Directorate of Economic Resources of the Canarian Health Service (SCS) has awarded, after concluding the corresponding public bidding process, the contract for the drafting service of the project for the construction of the new Specialty Care Center (CAE) of La Lajita, in the municipality of Pájara, for an amount of 464,911.68 euros, IGIC included. This health infrastructure will respond to a historical demand from the population of Fuerteventura, framed within the strategy of the Canarian Health Service to bring specialized care resources closer to the residents of the Basic Health Zone in the south of the island. The investment will be financed from the budgets of the Canarian Health Service and will be distributed in two annual installments according to the phases of technical development: 185,964.67 euros in 2026 for the preparation of the basic project, and 278,947.01 euros in 2027 for the drafting of the final execution project. The contract includes not only the basic architectural and engineering services for the building, but also urban planning, landscaping and the related scientific consulting and technical testing services necessary to guarantee the viability of the land. The plot was donated free of charge at the time by the Pájara City Council to enable the start of the file. After the ratification and publication of the resolution this Tuesday, June 16, the SCS will proceed to formalize the administrative document once the legal deadlines for appeals have elapsed, with the aim that the winning company begins the technical drafting tasks as soon as possible. CAE’s service portfolio In accordance with the approved functional plan, the new health center is projected under an ambitious design that contemplates a minimum constructed area of 16,000 square meters. Its facilities will be equipped to meet the current and future demands of the south of Fuerteventura through the following provision: – Outpatient Consultation Area: 22 medical specialty consultations, 11 nursing and midwife consultations, and five treatment rooms. – Specialized Units: Mental Health, Early Care, Rehabilitation and Pain Treatment. – Hospital Support Services: General Day Hospital, Hemodialysis unit, Ambulatory Surgery, diagnostic imaging, general laboratory and blood bank. – Home Care: Incorporation of the Home Hospitalization (HADO) service.
