The Ayuntamiento de Puerto del Rosario has embarked on an important initiative to safeguard its rich cultural heritage by launching the public exhibition period for the Catalogue of Protection of Heritage and Cultural Goods. This announcement came on Thursday, June 5, alongside its publication in the Boletín Oficial de Canarias (BOC), marking a significant step towards preserving the municipality’s historical identity.

This extensive catalogue encompasses 843 items that hold historical, architectural, ethnographic, archaeological, paleontological, or landscape significance. The newly established framework provides these items with legal and technical protection, which is crucial for their preservation. The compilation of the catalogue was carried out by the entity CF Cabrera Febles, specializing in Architecture, Landscape, and Urbanism.

Residents can consult the catalogue in person at the newly opened Office of Public Information, located at Doctor Mena Street No. 2. The office will be open Monday to Friday from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Additionally, the catalogue is available online at catalogo.puertodelrosario.org, allowing easier access for those unable to visit in person.

In a bid to foster community involvement, the Ayuntamiento has organized a series of informative meetings across several neighborhoods to discuss the catalogue and gather insights from the public. These meetings are scheduled as follows:

• Tuesday, June 17 at 6:00 PM – Cultural Center of Tetir
• Wednesday, June 18 at 6:00 PM – Casillas del Ángel
