Harnessing the Winds: The Rise of Sustainable Energy in Fuerteventura
Smart investments are propelling Fuerteventura toward becoming a renewable energy leader.
Fuerteventura is making strides in the renewable energy sector, notably through significant government investments and innovative local initiatives. With the winds of change blowing favorably, the island has positioned itself as a prime candidate for sustainable energy solutions, which could serve both economic and environmental purposes. This commitment not only aims to reduce the island’s carbon footprint but also paves the way for new job opportunities and long-term investments.
By embracing renewable resources such as solar and wind energy, Fuerteventura is tapping into a wealth of untapped potential. The government has increased its budget for green initiatives, fostering projects that attract investors while supporting the creation of a sustainable economy. Efforts are fueled by local startups that specialize in clean technology, allowing residents and businesses alike to benefit from green energy resources that reduce dependence on fossil fuels.
As the current wave of innovation continues, Fuerteventura is on track to enhance its reputation as a center for eco-friendly entrepreneurship. The combination of favorable weather conditions and committed stakeholders means that the island is not just aiming for energy independence but is also setting an example for other regions. This forward-thinking approach could solidify Fuerteventura’s status as a beacon of hope in the global shift toward sustainability.

Presentation of the “Mójate” commercial campaign | Radio Sintonía The Puerto del Rosario Business Association has presented today, on Primero de Mayo Street, the seventh edition of the “Mojate” campaign, an initiative whose main objective is to promote consumption in local commerce during the summer season and boost the economic activity of the open commercial area of the capital of Majorca. The campaign, which has the collaboration of the Puerto del Rosario City Council, will run from July 8 to 28 and will allow customers to participate in a prize draw for their purchases. For every purchase equal to or greater than 20 euros made in participating establishments, consumers will be able to access the campaign’s digital platform to instantly check if they have been awarded a virtual lucky wheel. In this edition, two prizes of 1,000 euros, two prizes of 500 euros and four prizes of 250 euros will be distributed. During the presentation event, the president of the Puerto del Rosario Business Association, Daniela Plotegher, highlighted the importance of continuing to support initiatives that encourage purchases in local commerce. «Mójate is much more than an awards campaign. It is an invitation to choose local businesses, to walk our streets and discover the quality and friendly service offered by our establishments. Every purchase made here contributes to strengthening the capital’s economy, generating employment and keeping the commercial heart of our city alive. We invite neighbors and visitors to get wet with our business this summer. The Business Association trusts that this new edition will once again have a high participation, like every year, and will contribute to strengthening commercial activity during one of the most important periods of the year for the sector. In this edition, 110 businesses have joined the campaign, which reflects the good response it has to revitalize commerce. All information about the campaign and the participation bases is available on the website mojatefuerte.es.
