Community is at the heart of Waking Life. The Portuguese festival takes place in the small area of Crato, delivering a mixture of live music, DJs, and beautiful scenery. There’s a no-phones policy on the dancefloor; the focus is on being present in your surroundings and taking in the moment exactly as it is.

Waking Life is also doing something bold this year, opting not to announce a lineup before the festival takes place. It all ties into the idea of presence, asking attendees to let the music find them, prioritizing discovery over blind hype.

The music isn’t bad, either. This year, techno heavyweights like Dax J and DJ Gigola will grace the decks, and the festival might have some of the best B2B sets we’ve ever seen. Ben Klock B2B Rodhad, Chris Sims B2B Chris Liebing, and Ellen Allien B2B Salome – could you ask for any more?
