A New Dawn for Luxury Hospitality in Fuerteventura: Paradisus Hotel

Fuerteventura, known for its stunning beaches and breathtaking landscapes, has recently welcomed a significant addition to its luxury accommodation offerings: the Paradisus Hotel. Situated on the renowned Playa de la Barca in the municipality of Pájara, this hotel marks a transformative step in the island’s hospitality sector, being the first luxury all-inclusive resort in Fuerteventura.

The Grand Inauguration

On October 20, 2025, a prestigious event unfolded as representatives from Banca March and Meliá Hotels International gathered to celebrate the official opening of Paradisus. The event was led by José Luis Acea, the CEO of Banca March, and Gabriel Escarrer, the President and CEO of Meliá. The occasion was particularly special as it signified the completion of a remarkable €30 million renovation of the former Los Gorriones hotel, elevating it to a five-star establishment.

The renovated hotel boasts an impressive 363 rooms, making it a substantial addition to the local hospitality scene. Guests can enjoy the luxury of four swimming pools and an array of dining options, with nine restaurants offering diverse culinary experiences. The hotel’s prime location near the picturesque Jandía beaches ensures that visitors are treated to some of the most spectacular coastal views Fuerteventura has to offer.

A Commitment to Local Development

The festivities included words of affirmation from local leaders. Mayor Alejandro Jorge expressed gratitude to Meliá and Banca March for their investment in the region. He remarked on the beauty of the surrounding landscapes and emphasized the importance of solidifying Pájara’s status as a key tourist destination in the Canary Islands. “We must continue to work along this path,” he encouraged, highlighting the mutual benefits of the investment for the local community and its economy.

In a similar vein, Urban Planning Councillor Alexis Alonso acknowledged the efforts made by the town’s technical office to expedite hotel licenses. He noted that this hotel would not only enhance service and infrastructure in the area but would also promote job creation, emphasizing the importance of sustaining employment within the region without overstretching the available land.

Celebrating Talent and Elegance

The inauguration ceremony also showcased the collaborative spirit of the local government and private sector. Attendees included Paloma Hernández, a senator, and Miguel Rodríguez, the General Director of Tourism Planning for the Canary Islands, underscoring the wide-ranging support for the hotel’s development. Celebrations were plentiful, and the shared vision of a thriving tourism sector was palpable.

The Paradisus Hotel isn’t just another luxury resort; it represents a commitment to providing superior service while fostering a collaborative environment that aims to enhance both tourism and community welfare. This investment serves as a testament to Fuerteventura’s potential as a premium travel destination, promising guests an unforgettable experience in one of the world’s most beautiful settings.

A Bright Future Ahead

As Paradisus embraces its new identity, it ushers in opportunities for both tourists and locals alike. From improving infrastructure to creating sustainable employment opportunities, this hotel is set to make a substantial impact on the local economy while offering a unique experience for guests from around the globe.

With its blend of luxury, design, and commitment to community, the Paradisus Hotel stands as a beacon of hope and opportunity for Fuerteventura, illustrating the bright future of the island’s tourism sector. Whether you’re looking for a sun-soaked getaway or seeking to explore the deep-rooted culture of the Canaries, Paradisus has positioned itself as a premier destination for all travelers.
