“Juan de Miranda lo pintó”: A Celebrated Exhibition Arrives in Fuerteventura

The highly acclaimed exhibition “Juan de Miranda lo pintó” is making its way to Fuerteventura, following a successful run at both the Museo Lázaro Galdiano in Madrid and the Cabrera Pinto Art Rooms in La Laguna, Tenerife. This rich showcase of Juan de Miranda’s oeuvre will officially open at the Centro de Arte Juan Ismael (CAJI) on May 23rd, at 20:00 hours. The event is part of the 100% May Initiative spearheaded by the Cabildo de Fuerteventura, aiming to celebrate and elevate the cultural landscape of the Canary Islands.

Organizing and Curating the Exhibition

The exhibition is meticulously organized by the Government of the Canary Islands, in collaboration with the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, Acción Cultural Española, and the Museo de Bellas Artes de Santa Cruz de Tenerife. This monumental effort has been spearheaded by renowned Art History professor Margarita Rodríguez González, whose deep understanding of Miranda’s work has shaped this collection.

Comprising over eighty remarkable pieces, the exhibition takes visitors through the full spectrum of Juan de Miranda’s artistic journey, from his early beginnings to his final creative expressions. Miranda’s transition into a favored artist of both the aristocracy and the church is brilliantly captured through his artworks.

  2. Religious Portraiture
  3. Immaculates
  4. Infancy of Jesus
  5. Public Life of Jesus
