Exciting Cultural Exchange at the Afro-Guinean Dance and Percussion Workshop

Live Music Featuring Naby Zana Band
Concertgoers can look forward to an electrifying performance by the Naby Zana Band, led by the talented Guinean artist Naby Camara. This band’s sound is a fascinating fusion of traditional African rhythms, with distinctive influences drawn from both Canary Islands and Latin American music. The Daytime Stage – Showcasing Local Talent
The daytime stage will also feature an array of performances from local and emerging artists. One standout is Hey Chabón, a rising band on the Canarian music scene. Their concerts are known for their infectious energy, seamlessly weaving cumbia, reggae, son, and chacarera into a captivating musical tapestry. The band effectively engages with the audience, ensuring that every performance is memorable and invigorating.
Rounding off the daytime performances is Chocolate Sexy, a unique musical project born in Fuerteventura. This ensemble has carved a niche for itself by blending rap, Caribbean rhythms, and contemporary urban influences, showcasing some of the most innovative sounds emerging from the majorera musical scene today.
Pilar López – The Voice of the Festival
The twentieth edition of the FEM will be expertly presented by majorera communicator Pilar López, a well-known voice in the Fuerteventura radio landscape. With over two decades of experience in music and entertainment programming, López is no stranger to the island’s cultural milieu. Currently hosting the radio show Suena Bien en Radio Insular, she possesses a deep understanding of Fuerteventura’s musical offerings. Her role in the festival reinforces the commitment to local talent and recognizes the professionals who have continually contributed to the island’s vibrant cultural life.
Complete Line-Up: Eleven Acts for Two Days at Playa de La Concha
The main stage at Playa de La Concha will pulsate with energy as it welcomes a mix of national, international, and Canarian artists over two days, in celebration of the festival’s significant 20th anniversary.
On Friday, July 3rd, the lineup will feature a renowned slate of artists including Femi Kuti & The Positive Force, Eskorzo, La Sra. Tomasa, Chanela Clicka, Marta Umpiérrez, and DJ Woodhands.
Then, on Saturday, July 4th, festival-goers can enjoy performances by Antonio Carmona, Pongo, Queralt Lahoz, Kumbia Boruka, Arife, and again, DJ Woodhands.
This diverse program promises to deliver a rich tapestry of sounds, embodied by artists from varied backgrounds, each contributing to the cultural depth and diversity of the festival.
