The vibrant coastal town of Corralejo is set to host its 21st International Meeting of Improvisers this Saturday, July 25, starting at 12:30 PM at Muelle Chico and continuing at 8:00 PM at Plaza Patricio Calero. This annual event promises to be a cultural feast, celebrating the extraordinary art of improvisational poetry in an enchanting seaside atmosphere.

A New Chapter: The Clotilde Cruz Peña Verseadora School

This year brings an exciting twist: for the first time, the event will feature the Clotilde Cruz Peña Verseadora School. Comprised of talented senior program students from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC), these emerging poets are sure to bring fresh perspectives and innovative techniques to the stage. Their participation adds a youthful, dynamic energy to the venerable tradition of improvisation, opening doors for new voices in the world of verse.

Star Performers: Celebrating Cuban Poetry

Among the notable participants is the acclaimed Cuban poet, Alexis Díaz Pimienta. Renowned for his mastery in improvisation, Díaz Pimienta will introduce audiences to the brilliance of Cuban poetic traditions. Joining him on stage are fellow compatriots: the talented poet Ana Marys Gil and the captivating singer Marisol Guillama, who will make her debut in Corralejo.
