During a recent weekend, the municipality of Antigua was alive with the vibrant sounds of a lively beach party that drew families and music lovers alike to the beautiful shores of Caleta de Fuste. The first edil, or mayor, emphasized the serene atmosphere and positive vibes that enveloped the event, highlighting how despite the soaring summer temperatures, all activities unfolded smoothly, thanks in part to the scenic seaside location and a comprehensive security presence. This synergy created a perfect environment for attendees to revel in high-quality live music.
The Role of the Tourism Councilor in Event Success
A key figure behind the success of this notably bustling event was the Sebastiana Verde, the Tourism and Beaches Councilor of Antigua. Verde expressed her heartfelt appreciation for the hard work and dedication exhibited by the technical team and the organizations involved. She noted, “I want to thank the efforts of the entire technical team to ensure everything went well, the companies working on the event, and the entire organization because without them, it wouldn’t be possible to celebrate the Beach Party—a high-level musical and entertainment event that puts Antigua and Caleta de Fuste on the summer concert circuit in the Canary Islands.” Her words rang true, acknowledging the collaborative spirit that underscored the event’s planning and execution.
Additionally, Verde pointed out the logistical challenges faced in organizing the festival, mentioning, “Although we have been in the government for only a month, I have worked tirelessly alongside the mayor and the team to realize the Beach Party, as there were numerous permits and procedural tasks that needed addressing beforehand.” This insight highlights the dedication and urgency displayed by local officials in rallying to ensure the festival could take place, even under pressing time constraints.
A Star-Studded Lineup and Diverse Offerings
The Beach Party showcased a stellar lineup during its second day, gathering renowned artists from the Canarian and national music scene. Notable performances on the night of August 1st included celebrated acts such as Los Salvapantallas, DJ Doctor Maxi, Tay de León, Juan Blazer, and Miguel Lara. A particularly touching moment was a moving musical tribute to the legendary Elton John. Alongside them, Lucho RK and the Capital Party Band further enriched the lineup, creating a magical atmosphere that resonated with the audience against the backdrop of a warm summer night.
This event was not only a musical feast but also exemplified community collaboration. It was organized by the Tourism Council of the Antigua Ayuntamiento, with the cooperation of the Cabildo Insular de Fuerteventura, the Tourism Board, and various other entities. The Beach Party offered more than music; it encapsulated a lively array of cultural and sporting activities designed for all age groups, reinforcing its identity as a family-friendly and inclusive festival.
