Puerto del Rosario launches the Social Employment Plan 2025-2026 The Puerto del Rosario City Council presented this Friday the Social Employment Plan 2025-2026, a program that will allow the hiring of 61 people from the municipality and that has a total investment of more than one and a half million euros. In this first phase, 34 workers are incorporated who will begin to develop different tasks in municipal areas. This program is financed through a joint contribution from the Canarian Employment Service, charged to FDECAN funds, and from the Puerto del Rosario City Council itself, which assumes an important part of the total cost of the project. This is an initiative aimed at providing job opportunities to people who are going through complex economic or social situations. During the presentation, the mayor of Puerto del Rosario, David de Vera, highlighted the social value of this type of municipal programs. “This plan represents much more than a temporary hiring. Behind each contract there is a personal story, a family and a hope. For us it is essential that public policies also serve to accompany people in difficult times and offer them new perspectives,” he said. The mayor also highlighted the economic effort made by the administrations to make this project go ahead every year. “We are talking about an investment of more than a million and a half euros aimed at generating opportunities in our municipality. It is a clear commitment to employment and to improve the quality of life of our neighbors,” he added. For her part, the Councilor for Local Development, Erica González, explained that the Social Employment Plan is the result of coordinated work between different administrations and the efforts of the municipal technical teams. “This program not only allows access to a job, it also offers work experience that can open new doors in the future. The truth is that behind each incorporation there is important prior work so that everything works and so that the participating people can make the most of this opportunity,” he indicated. González also wanted to address the people who join the program. “Today begins a stage that can be very positive for you. I encourage you to get involved, to learn and feel part of the public service that we provide to citizens,” he said. The City Council also thanked the work of the technical staff and the different municipal areas that participate in the organization and development of this plan. With the launch of the 2025-2026 Social Employment Plan, the Puerto del Rosario City Council continues to promote initiatives aimed at promoting social inclusion and generating job opportunities for the residents of the municipality.
