Fuerteventura en Música 2025: A Cultural Celebration on the Canary Islands
The vibrant island of Fuerteventura is gearing up for an exciting musical event that will resonate across the Canary Islands. The Fuerteventura en Música (FEM) festival has announced its 2025 lineup, showcasing an eclectic mix of artists dedicated to celebrating cultural diversity, sustainability, and both local and international talent. Scheduled for the 4th and 5th of July, this year’s venue will be the stunning Playa de la Concha in El Cotillo, an idyllic setting that complements the festival’s vibrant atmosphere.
Star-Studded Lineup
Leading the charge for the festival is the highly anticipated G-5, a supergroup featuring renowned artists such as Kiko Veneno, Muchachito, Tomasito, El Canijo de Jerez, and Diego Ratón. G-5 is not only returning with new songs but also celebrating the re-release of their iconic 2006 album, Tucaratupapi. This remastered album will be available digitally and on vinyl for the first time. Their performance will take center stage on Friday, July 4, along with a diverse lineup that includes the French collective Lehmanns Brothers, Argentine singer Natalia Doco, Chilean band Calle Mambo, and the local Canary Islands band Rabiche, led by Fajardo.

Saturday Highlights
The second night, Saturday, July 5, features yet another exciting headliner: Queen Omega & The Royal Souls from Trinidad and Tobago. After enjoying a successful year internationally with their latest album, Freedom Legacy, the reggae sensation is set to bring vibrant Caribbean rhythms to the stage. Other performers include Baiuca from Galicia, trumpeter Roy Paci & Aretuska from Italy, Dutch electronic duo Kraak & Smaak, and local talent David El Majorero, who will present his project Contraventura, featuring traditional instruments like the timple and contra majorera.
To keep the energy high, Tenerife DJ Carballeira will be on hand each night, bringing his eclectic style and three decades of cultural experience to the party.
Commitment to Sustainability and Local Culture
The festival not only showcases fantastic music but is also deeply rooted in community values. Lola García, the president of the Fuerteventura Cabildo, emphasized that FEM has been an integral cultural event on the island for over twenty years. The festival aims to promote sustainable practices while creating a vibrant meeting point for music and culture. García highlighted that this event serves as a platform for local artists to shine alongside international acts.
Cultural counselor Rayco León echoed these sentiments, noting that the two-night event marks the beginning of summer, featuring both international and national artists while emphasizing multiculturalism and sustainability, which have been long-standing themes of the festival.

Isaí Blanco, the mayor of La Oliva, celebrated the festival’s role as one of the most significant cultural events on the island. He pointed out that El Cotillo is proud to welcome artists from around the globe, contributing to a rich cultural fabric that benefits both locals and tourists visiting Fuerteventura. Blanco noted the municipality’s commitment to promoting cultural and musical initiatives while also being mindful of environmental consciousness.
