Almost Double the Tables and a New Location for the Grand Taifas Dance in Fuerteventura

Exciting Updates for the Gran Baile de Taifas

The Gran Baile de Taifas is set to become an even more spectacular event this year, with significant changes that promise to enhance the experience for all attendees. Traditionally held in the picturesque setting of the Avenida Marítima in Puerto del Rosario, the event will now take place in the vibrant and spacious grounds of the Puerto del Rosario fairgrounds.

Increased Capacity and Comfort

One of the most notable changes is the increase in seating capacity, with the number of tables expected to grow from 257 to 400. This is not just an expansion; it represents a near doubling of the available space for attendees, allowing many more people to participate and enjoy this celebration of Canarian culture. The additional space not only means more tables but also a more comfortable arrangement. The fairgrounds will allow for more distance between tables, promoting a relaxed atmosphere where guests can mingle freely and enjoy the festivities.

A New Venue with Enhanced Accessibility

The decision to move the Gran Baile de Taifas to the fairgrounds comes with numerous benefits. The new location is designed with accessibility in mind, ensuring that everyone can join in on the fun effortlessly. Improved parking facilities will also make it more convenient for attendees to reach the venue, addressing one of the logistical challenges faced in previous years.

Moreover, the fairgrounds will provide an additional 5,000 square meters of space compared to past venues. This substantial increase not only allows for more tables but also enables a larger dance area, creating a vibrant atmosphere where attendees can fully immerse themselves in traditional Canarian music and dance.

Engaging Activities and Local Cuisine

In addition to the extra seating and spacious layout, the fairgrounds will host an array of parallel activities aimed at enriching the experience. Attendees can look forward to a variety of ‘chiringuitos’ (food stalls) where they can sample Canarian cuisine. There will also be dedicated areas for showcooking, showcasing the flavors and culinary techniques native to the islands, ensuring that there’s something for every palate.

Beyond food, the event will also feature exhibitions showcasing traditional clothing, giving participants the opportunity to admire and learn about the rich heritage of the Canary Islands. For those looking to capture memories from the event, special photocalls will be available, adding a fun twist to the festivities and providing opportunities to create shared memories with friends and family.

Streamlined Table Reservations

Rayco León, the Councillor for Culture, has indicated that in the coming weeks there will be an announcement regarding how attendees can reserve tables for the Gran Baile de Taifas. Building on the innovations introduced in previous editions, the reservation process will once again be made online via the Cabildo’s website, streamlining what was once a cumbersome process and allowing attendees to avoid long queues.

The Gran Baile de Taifas promises to be an unforgettable celebration. With enhanced capacity, accessibility, and engaging activities, this year’s event is geared to provide an authentic and enjoyable experience, connecting both locals and visitors through the shared joy of Canarian culture. Whether you’re a seasoned attendee or a newcomer, the Gran Baile de Taifas is poised to be a night to remember.
