On the occasion of World Oceans Day on June 8th, Corona, the world’s most valuable beer brand, has announced the much-anticipated return of its annual Corona Beach 100 guide for 2026. This year’s edition shines a spotlight on 100 exceptional beaches worldwide, emphasizing the importance of natural ecosystems and the local communities that make these destinations unique.

A New Gem from the Canary Islands

Among the newly explored destinations is the Grandes Playas de Corralejo in Fuerteventura, Canary Islands. This inclusion not only underlines the region’s beauty but also reinforces the Canary Islands as one of the standout coastal enclaves in the Atlantic, recognized for their stunning landscapes and ecological significance.

Roberto Martínez de Bustos, the General Director of Cervecera de Canarias, the company behind Corona’s presence in the archipelago, expresses pride about this recognition. “The presence of Grandes Playas de Corralejo in the Beach 100 is a testament to the natural value of Fuerteventura and the entirety of the Canary Islands,” he noted. This location embodies the spirit of “This Is Living,” capturing the essence of pure nature, oceanic beauty, and an authentic outdoor lifestyle year-round.

“This Is Living”: An Invitation to Connect with Nature

Linked to the global “This Is Living” platform, the initiative encourages people to get outdoors, unplug from their routine, and reconnect with nature this summer. The 2026 edition has expanded to incorporate 27 new beaches, hundreds of local experiences available on Tripadvisor, and broader initiatives supporting conservation efforts with Oceanic Global.

Clarissa Pantoja, Global VP of Corona, explains, “Following the global acclaim for the first edition of the Beach 100, we saw an opportunity to continue developing the platform in 2026. It’s not just about discovering beaches; it’s about valuing and protecting the ecosystems that make them special. We want to inspire people to step outside, unwind, and reconnect with nature through the spirit of ‘This Is Living.’”

A Global Perspective on Coastal Beauty

The 2026 Corona Beach 100 encompasses beaches from six continents, showcasing everything from hidden Mediterranean coves to remote coastlines in South America, and iconic surfing spots. Each beach was selected based on three core criteria: beach culture, connection to nature, and scenic beauty. Collaborating with the experiential agency WINK, the ranking features 20 beaches recognized with the prestigious Tres Soles distinction.

Among the significant updates this year are:

  • Inclusion of 27 new beaches globally: Fresh experiences await, expanding the range and diversity of destinations for beach enthusiasts.

  • Greater representation from South America: New entries from Uruguay and Argentina join the lineup.

  • Remote gems in Brazil and France: These additions emphasize the varied landscapes and cultures that thrive along the coasts.

  • Expansion in Africa: Mozambique and South Africa make their debut, enhancing the continent’s presence in the rankings.

  • Renowned surf destinations: Locations such as Manu Bay in New Zealand feature prominently, catering to surf culture aficionados.

  • New European highlights: Destinations like Barafundle Bay in Wales exemplify charming coastal beauty.
