The Vibrant Carnival of La Oliva 2026

The municipality of La Oliva is gearing up to burst with color, music, and tradition as it prepares for the 2026 Carnival, scheduled to take place primarily in Corralejo from March 5 to March 15. Embracing Tradition and Community

The La Oliva Town Council, through the Department of Celebrations, has unveiled a plan that beautifully intertwines tradition with citizen involvement. The mayor, Isaí Blanco, emphasized the cultural significance of this celebration, saying, “Our goal remains the same: to organize a carnival that preserves our traditions and identity with the help of the protagonists of these dates, the carnival groups.” He invites both residents and visitors to take part in the various scheduled events.

Councilor Omaira Saavedra highlighted the essential roles that local bands, murgas, and associations play in the unfolding of the festivity. She passionately affirmed, “I want to deeply thank the carnival groups for their effort and dedication to keeping our carnival alive because, without them, there would be no carnival.”

The Pioneers of the Celebration

This year’s carnival will see the lead-in from Yeray Galván and Judith Morera as the event’s main announcers.
