Free Activities for Young People in Fuerteventura: August’s ‘Actívate’ Program

Registration Opens for Phase Two of the «Actívate» Program in Fuerteventura

The Fuerteventura Council is excited to announce the opening of registration for the second phase of the «Actívate» program, aimed at engaging youth aged 12 to 30 in a series of thrilling, free leisure and sports activities throughout August. This initiative is a vibrant opportunity for young people to make the most of their summer while participating in healthy and enjoyable pursuits.

A Youth-Centric Initiative

Promoted by the Youth Department, the «Actívate» program is designed specifically to cater to the interests and passions of the island’s youth. Spanning several municipalities, the initiative will offer a diverse range of activities in popular areas such as Puerto del Rosario, Gran Tarajal, and Corralejo. The lineup includes exhilarating experiences like go-karting, a day at a water park, and unique competitions featuring giant inflatable foosball and bumper balls.

Event Schedule: What to Expect

The program will kick off on August 8th in Puerto del Rosario with an exciting go-karting event. This event not only promises fun on the track but will also include a valuable talk on safe driving practices—an essential aspect for any young driver.

Following this, Gran Tarajal will host a session of giant inflatable foosball and bumper ball on August 21st, promising a day filled with laughter and friendly competition. The grand finale of the month will take place in Corralejo on August 29th, where participants can splash around and enjoy the thrilling rides at a local water park.

Supporting Youth Development

Minister of Water, Education, and Youth, Adargoma Hernández, has expressed enthusiasm for the initiative, urging young individuals on the island to take part in these activities. He emphasized that the primary goal of the «Actívate» program is to align with youths’ interests, provide options for healthy leisure time, and foster a sense of community among participants.

Equally committed to this mission is the president of the Fuerteventura Council, Lola García. She underscored the significance of creating quality, accessible leisure opportunities across the island. García stressed that these activities not only promote well-being but also encourage safe engagement, allowing youths to connect with peers in a secure environment.

Free Activities with Limited Spots

All activities under the «Actívate» program are free of charge, though spaces are limited—an important detail for interested participants. To secure a spot, young individuals can register through the official program website at www.fuerteventurajovenyeduca.es.

Continuing the Tradition of Active Youth Engagement

With this second round of activities, the Fuerteventura Council reaffirms its commitment to the «Actívate» program. Building on its success, this initiative continues to encourage healthy lifestyles and active youth participation during the summer months. The program stands out as a beacon of community support, offering unforgettable experiences designed specifically for the island’s vibrant youth demographic.

Whether it’s racing down the track, engaging in spirited games with friends, or enjoying a day at the water park, the «Actívate» program promises to deliver joy, excitement, and meaningful leisure for Fuerteventura’s young residents.
