Serious Road Collision in Antigua, Fuerteventura: Five Injured

The collision took place shortly after 4:00 PM on the FV-2 highway, approximately at kilometer 25. Emergency services were notified through an alert received by the Centro Coordinador de Emergencias y Seguridad (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Government of Canarias. Emergency Response
Upon receiving the alert, emergency personnel promptly arrived at the scene. Firefighters were among the first responders, tasked with securing the accident site and ensuring the safety of all individuals involved. One of their critical roles was to extricate two occupants who were trapped inside one of the damaged vehicles. Their efforts were vital in promptly assessing the situation and aiding the injured.
Injuries and Hospital Transport
Medical professionals from the Servicio de Urgencias Canario (SUC) quickly evaluated the victims. Five individuals were reported to have suffered injuries, with two of them— a 25-year-old woman and a 49-year-old man—sustaining severe multiple traumas. Due to the seriousness of their conditions, both were transported to the Hospital General de Fuerteventura, Virgen de La Peña, for immediate medical care.
In addition to the critically injured, three other people were affected: a 15-year-old minor, another 25-year-old woman, and a 30-year-old man. Thankfully, their injuries were categorized as moderate, and they were also taken to the same hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
