“We want to give back to Fuerteventura everything it has given us”, claimed Jacobo Aguado, president of Casa Galicia, during an interview with Pilar López on El Tardeo of Radio Insular. “We have been here for over 25 years, we are part of this land, and we wanted to create an event that would unite our roots with those of the Canarians,” he explained.
Galician Octopus, Goat Meat, and Live Music
During the two-day event, attendees can look forward to Galician pulpeiras arriving directly from Galicia, who will cook the classic pulpo á feira “in the traditional way,” using large copper pots. Alongside this, there will be traditional goat meat roasters and outdoor barbecues. “Two ladies from Galicia, who specialize in cooking octopus for popular festivals, will be here cooking non-stop for both days,” Aguado revealed. There will also be a bar, serving tapas, grilled meats, beers, and wines, as well as spacious shaded areas with tables, chairs, and tents.
Music will be a vital part of the atmosphere from the moment the festival begins. “We’ll have bagpipers from Lugo, bagpipers from the Casa Galicia of Las Palmas, and local Canarian bands performing throughout the day. The music and the vibrant ambiance won’t stop,” he emphasized.
Musical Lineup
The musical program promises an exciting lineup. On Friday, the festival will feature Andros, De Jarana, Si es Tarde Nos Vamos, Aseres, Sin Filtro, and Mejor con Copas. The following day, Saturday, audiences can enjoy performances from Andros, Sergio Jiménez, Kilombo Improvisado, Laly Lean, Banda del Cuco, and Pedro Afonso, who will close out the festival. This rich array of artists ensures a lively musical experience that reflects the diverse cultural landscape of the region.
