HiperDino, a well-known supermarket chain in the Canary Islands, is kicking off 2026 with a remarkable commitment to enhancing its facilities. Recently, they unveiled the comprehensive renovation of their HiperDino Express El Cotillo store in Fuerteventura, marking a significant milestone in their ongoing efforts to modernize their establishments.
A Significant Transformation
The HiperDino Express El Cotillo has undergone a thorough transformation, with significant expansions to its infrastructure. The investment, nearing one million euros, has enabled the store to expand to an impressive 437 square meters designated for sales, within a total area of 558 square meters. This expansion not only enhances the shopping experience but also accommodates various product sections, including bakery, fruits and vegetables, cosmetics, wines, organic options, and frozen goods.
Tailoring to Local Needs
Felipe Díaz, the coordinator of HiperDino Express (HDX) in the Canary Islands, emphasizes that this renovation is designed to meet the commercial needs of customers in the municipality. He states, “This renovation has not only modernized our sections and services, but also improved operability and, ultimately, the quality of service we offer to our customers, especially in this tourist-heavy region throughout the year.”
HiperDino’s approach is focused on responding to customer demands, particularly in an area experiencing high tourist occupancy. As the season picks up in April, the store aims to provide a seamless shopping experience for both residents and visitors.
Expansion Plans
This renovation is part of a broader strategy, with HiperDino investing heavily in upgrades across its HDX stores in the Canary Islands. The chain currently has 93 HDX locations, and by the end of April, will also operate 21 stores in Mallorca. This expansion signals the company’s commitment to offering high-quality, fresh products while catering to tourists visiting the Canary Islands.
Díaz highlights the importance of aligning the store’s offerings with the preferences of its diverse customer base, particularly tourists. “Our focus is on providing fresh, local, and quality products, as well as items that resonate with the profile of our visitors in the Canary Archipelago,” he notes.
Sustainable Practices
In addition to enhancing customer experience and operational efficiency, this renovation project includes significant strides toward greater energy efficiency. The store has incorporated LED lighting in the sales area and installed Danfoss telemanagement technology. This system optimizes the management of lighting, signage, air conditioning, and the cold chain, ensuring that the store operates sustainably.

HiperDino Express El Cotillo is conveniently located at Calle Los Lagos, 7. The store operates daily from 08:00 to 22:00, making it easily accessible for both locals and tourists. This extended hours model allows for flexible shopping options, further enhancing customer satisfaction.
